My name is Jenovic Lumu, and I am a student at St John’s College in Johannesburg, South Africa. I am passionate about physics, mathematics, quantum computing, and using science to address real-world challenges. My interest in quantum science grew through my research into quantum-inspired optimisation and QAOA, where I explored how emerging technologies could contribute to solving problems in education and resource allocation. Beyond academics, I am actively involved in youth leadership and educational outreach, particularly initiatives that make STEM opportunities more accessible to young people. As a GQMC Ambassador, I hope to help build a stronger community of students interested in quantum mechanics in Johannesburg and encourage more South African students to see quantum science as something they can explore, understand, and contribute to.
