Hi! I’m Smira Chowdhary, a high school student from Washington State with a strong interest in physics, engineering, computer science, and research. My interest in quantum mechanics grew through the Global Quantum Mechanics Challenge, where I became a finalist and explored nanoparticle matter-wave interferometry through an independent research paper. Beyond academics, I enjoy applying STEM to real-world problems through engineering and technology projects, while also participating in organizations such as TSA, DECA, and Speech & Debate. I especially enjoy learning challenging concepts and then finding ways to make them more understandable and exciting for other students. As a GQMC Ambassador, I hope to introduce more students to quantum mechanics, show them that the subject is approachable even before university, and encourage them to challenge themselves through research, competitions, and collaborative learning.
